HGH Duty Hours and Shifts
Hargeisa Group Hospital is the Main General Public Hospital in the Country’s populated Capital City where over one million people are resident, and there are daily cases for many people coming from remote districts in Marodijeh region, as well as from other regions, and all parts in Somaliland.
The nature of its work we are mandated, and the imperative health services we are offering our people make HGH twenty-four-hour (24H) service with three shifts being Day Shift (A), Afternoon Shift (B), and Night Shift (C). The Night Shift is the longest-time and twelve-hour shift. Nurses, Physicians and other practitioners and employees are obliged to work consecutive long hours, overtime, and do more extra to ensure patient safety. Those working on the specialized Departments or Sections such as the Surgery, Dialysis, Emergencies, and the Intensive Care Unit are often to work extra hours besides regular scheduled shifts.
